Matawan Man Drove 100 MPH Drunk, Cops Say

A Matawan man is facing drunken driving and speeding charges after he allegedly drove at more than 100 mph in New York, according to the Associated Press.

A state trooper, who was patrolling a work zone on Route 17 in Wallkill, N.Y. at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, stopped Lawrence Aiello, 50, the AP reported. 

Troopers tested Aiello's blood alcohol content, which was 0.19 percent, more than twice the legal limit, according to the AP.

Aiello was arraigned and is being held in the Orange County jail, the AP report said.
