Matawan Man Who Died In Motorcycle Crash Remembered

Garrett Dlin, 30, is remembered by loved ones as a family man who loved motorcycles. He leaves behind a wife and two young sons.

MATAWAN — Garrett Dlin loved his family, the outdoors and just about anything with an engine.

Dlin, 30, of Matawan, was killed on his motorcycle Tuesday after colliding with a pickup truck in the intersection of Thompson and Center avenues in the Leonardo section of Middletown, according to Middletown Police.

On Wednesday, a GoFundMe page was created in Dlin's memory and to raise money for funeral expenses. In just four hours, the page had raised nearly $17,000.

"Garret was a family man, a great father, a brother to many, a great son and an amazing husband. He had a passion for just about anything with an engine," the fundraising page reads. "He was a simple man not hard to please. A little fire and his family was all he needs."

Dlin is survived by his wife Michelle, his two sons Gunner and Jameson, his mother and father Kathy and Barry Dlin and his brother and sister Zach and Paige Dlin, according to the page. His love for motorcycles began at a young age.

"His passion for motorcycles started at a young age and he was hooked ever since. He loved old bikes especially old Harley’s and their gas tanks," the fundraising page reads. "If you know Gary you knew he was happy on those 2 wheels."

All proceeds from the GoFundMe page will go to Dlin's funeral expenses and his family, according to the page.
