Matawan's Christmas Tree Lighting Is Nov. 30

Friday, Nov. 30 6-9 p.m. in Terhune Park. A local artist will carve ice sculptures, a caricaturist will do free portraits and meet Santa!

MATAWAN, NJ — Matawan's annual Christmas tree lighting will be Friday, Nov. 30 in Terhune Park from 6-9 p.m.

Everyone in the community is invited to please stop by. New this year to the festivities are two ice-sculpting demonstrations, where a local artist will carve two ice sculptures between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Also, get your portraits drawn for free by a caricaturist.

Take photos with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, and don't forget your selfies with the Grinch and Olaf the Snowman. They will be strolling through the crowd. There will also be free candy canes, hot chocolate and popcorn and the town will be raffling off cookie platters.
