No Evacuations in Aberdeen, Unlike Other Shore Towns

Aberdeen police put barricades up on Amboy Avenue, Lakeshore Drive, Greenwood Ave., Ocean Blvd and in Cliffwood Beach.

Aberdeen, NJ - There are no mandatory evacuations in Aberdeen as of Friday afternoon, Chief of Police John Powers says. Manasquan, Barnegat, Toms River, Lacey, Tuckerton and Brick have all issued voluntary and involuntary evacuations as of late afternoon on Friday.

Aberdeen police put barricades up on Amboy Avenue, Lakeshore Drive, Greenwood Ave., Ocean Blvd and the Cliffwood Beach section — all areas that typically experience flooding. Minor to moderate flooding is predicted along Raritan Bay, where wave heights will build to 3 to 6 feet on Saturday.

High tide at the Matawan Creek/Rt. 35 bridge is at 6:56 a.m. and 7:24 p.m. Saturday, and 7:40 a.m. Sunday. Be aware of those times, Chief Powers says, as that’s when Raritan Bay would flood.
