Old Bridge: Man Hit, Killed By Car On Rt. 9 Tuesday Night
A man was hit and killed at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Rt. 9 north in front of the McDonalds in Old Bridge.
OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday night on Rt. 9 north in Old Bridge, according to Old Bridge Police acting Chief of Police Joe Mandola.
The man was struck at 10:33 p.m. on Rt. 9 north bound, in the middle lane, in front of the McDonalds (about 200 yards north of Meleta Way overpass).
This pedestrian died from his injuries. He did not have any identification on him and all attempts are being made to identify him, said Mandola.

He appeared to be between 40-50 years of age and of Hispanic descent.
He was hit by a 2008 Toyota Highlander traveling north and multiple witnesses stopped at the scene to assist. The driver remained at the scene and there are no pending charges against the driver, said Mandola.

Rt. 9 north through Old Bridge was closed for approximately three and a half hours for the accident investigation Tuesday night.
