Pedestrian Hit At Matawan Road Commuter Lot Thursday Morning

The woman, 56, of Laurence Harbor, was struck at 6:22 a.m. as she was crossing Matawan Road to get to the bus stop, said Old Bridge police.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A pedestrian was hit Thursday morning as she walked to a bus stop at an Old Bridge commuter lot just off the Garden State Parkway.

The 56-year-old woman who lives in Laurence Harbor was struck at 6:22 a.m. as she was crossing Matawan Road to get to the bus stop, said Old Bridge Police spokesman Capt. Joe Mandola.

The woman was struck as she was walking from the commuter parking lot to the nearby bus stop. She was struck by a red Dodge Charger; no charges have been filed at this time.

The woman suffered numerous broken bones and internal injuries and she was flown to Robert Wood Hospital in New Brunswick, where she remains.

This accident is under investigation, said Capt. Mandola. Any witnesses are asked to please call Old Bridge Police Officer Steve Connolly at 732-721-5600, ext. 3821 with any information.
