MATAWAN, NJ — New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera was on hand for the grand opening of NJ Spine and Wellness, a new pain, wellness and rehabilitation care center that just opened its new location on Highway 34 in Matawan last Saturday, Sept. 8.

Rivera joined the co-founders of NJ Spine and Wellness, Dr. Peter Bufano and Dr. Arlene Kazio, plus Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry and Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald Rios.

Located at 144 Highway 34 in Matawan (across the street from The Pine Tavern), the new, 8,000-square-foot facility features the latest in sports medicine tech. Attendees of the sold-out launch party had the opportunity to demo equipment such as the NormaTec recovery system, tour the facility and take a photo with five-time World Champion Rivera.

“NJ Spine and Wellness did a great job getting families to come out to this grand opening,” said Mayor Owen Henry. “They had games for the kids, prizes, food, and many activities for families to join in on. It was also a pleasure to welcome Mariano Rivera, former professional baseball pitcher who played in the Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. NJ Spine and Wellness ran some tests and live demonstrations on him for everyone to see. It was great to see him visit our Township and spend time with our community.”
