Police Seek This Car In Matawan Hit And Run Of Local Woman

MATAWAN, NJ — Investigators announced Friday afternoon they are now looking to find the owner of a dark-colored 2013 Kia Sorento in connection with the hit and run Tuesday evening of a 77-year-old Matawan woman.

The Kia Sorento will have damage to its passenger-side mirror, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.

The Matawan woman, 77, remains critical.

At 6:57 p.m. Tuesday, Matawan police responded to a report of a body in the shoulder of the roadway in front of the Mediterranean Chateau located at 27 Freneau Ave. in the borough.

Matawan Police arrived to find the female victim lying in the shoulder of the northbound lane of Freneau Ave.

She was treated at the scene before being transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune Township where she remains hospitalized in serious condition. Initial Patch report: Matawan Woman, 77, Critical After Hit And Run Tuesday Night

Matawan police are now focused on finding the dark-colored 2013 Kia Sorento with passenger side mirror damage.
