Power Out in Old Bridge, Red Bank As Storm Moves Through

Power is also out in Toms River, Point Pleasant and the Howell area due to the storms rolling through Wednesday.

Some customers in Old Bridge Township and the Red Bank area are currently without power due to a fast-moving storm that whipped through southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey Wednesday afternoon.

Only about 20 customers in Old Bridge and 20 in Red Bank lost electricity, JCP&L reports. A cluster of residents near the Manasquan Reservoir lost electricity due to the storm, as did 21-100 customers in Point Pleasant Beach. Customers in Toms River and Berkeley Heights are reporting outages, too.

But that's nothing compared to the Philadelphia region, where more than 66,000 PECO customers are currently without power after strong thunder and hail storms moved through there before moving into New Jersey. Large hail was spotted in the northeastern Philly suburbs as part of the system.
