Raritan Bay Medical Center Old Bridge Gets Massive New ER
Hackensack Meridian Health is investing millions to upgrade emergency rooms throughout its system, resulting in less wait time for ER visits
OLD BRIDGE, NJ — Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel is not the only hospital to have its ER massively renovated and upgraded: Hackensack Meridian Health System is also pouring $39 million into a new emergency room for Raritan Bay Medical Center Old Bridge.
The new ER will open in approximately two years. Construction just started this week; hospital services will not be disrupted during the construction period.
Once complete, the new ER will be 24,000 square feet and will more than double the size of the current one. Its construction will also change the layout of the entire hospital, as the new ER will connect all three hospital buildings. They are adding additional ambulance bays, newly designed pediatric rooms and new on-site scanning technology with equipment that will provide more accurate diagnostics and treatment. Additionally, the hospital says the new ER will have greater privacy, patient comfort and immediate patient triage.
