South Amboy Solar Salesman Charged With Theft of $75K

Investigators allege Brett Cooper, 44, of Moorestown, deposited the stolen money into a business account he opened under a different name.

SOUTH AMBOY, NJ — A former solar panel salesman has been charged with stealing over $75,000 from the South Amboy-based company Solar Me USA, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Brett Cooper, 44, of Moorestown, has been charged with second-degree theft for allegedly accepting over $75,000 in payments from solar panel customers and withholding those payments from the solar company.

Investigators allege Cooper deposited the stolen money into a business account he opened in the name of Renewing Energy, LLC.

The four-month investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Middlesex Prosecutor's Office Detective Christopher VanEerde at 732-745-8479.
