Check your pockets – you may have won $20,000 in Point Pleasant Boro now that the jackpot is nearing a record high.

NEW JERSEY – A $20,000 winning ticket was sold in Point Pleasant Boro on Tuesday now that the Mega Millions jackpot is nearing $1 billion.
Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing again produced millions of winning tickets, but not one that matched all six numbers – the white balls 10, 19, 26, 28 and 50, plus the gold Mega Ball 16.
As a result, Friday’s jackpot will be an estimated $970 million, or $716.3 million cash, the second-largest prize in the game’s history.

Ticket-holders must match the five white balls to win the game’s $1 million second prize.
Additionally, there were eight third-tier prizewinning tickets sold that matched four of the five white balls and the gold ball-winning $10,000. One of those tickets was purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $20,000.
Those tickets were purchased at the following locations:
- Ocean County ($20,000): 7-Eleven #27497, 701 Route 88, Point Pleasant;
- Bergen County ($10,000): Key Food, 937 Lincoln Ave., Glen Rock;
- Bergen County ($10,000): 7-Eleven #18390, 300 Hackensack St., Wood Ridge;
- Gloucester County ($10,000): Shoprite #502, 401 Harmony Rd., Gibbstown;
- Gloucester County ($10,000): Nik Nak Food Mart, 500 Woodbury Turnersville Rd., Turnersville;
- Monmouth County ($10,000): Grover Convenience Store, 179 South St., Freehold;
- Union County ($10,000): Mr. Mike's Convenience Store, 2933 Vauxhall Rd., Vauxhall; and,
- Warren County ($10,000): Travel Centers of America – Columbia, 2 Simpson Rd., Columbia.
The estimated $970 million jackpot would be the third-largest prize in American lottery history, below only two billion-dollar-plus jackpots: the world-record Powerball jackpot of $1.586 billion on Jan. 13, 2016 and the current Mega Millions record of $1.537 billion on Oct. 23, 2018.
The latter is the world’s largest prize won on a single ticket, as the Powerball record was shared by three winning tickets, lottery officials said.
While the jackpot keeps growing, prizes at all other levels continue to add up during this roll, which began after the jackpot was last won in Wisconsin on Sept. 15.
