POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – A Vietnam veteran enjoying dinner with his family at a Point Pleasant Beach restaurant when he got a pleasant surprise from a fellow diner, according to CBS New York.

Michael Malone, who always can be seen in his Vietnam veteran, was out to eat at The Shrimp Box with family on Tuesday evening when their waitress brought over a note written on a napkin thanking him for his service and his bill paid for.

“The waitress came over with a napkin, and it had writing on it, and she said a man and a wife at the bar had seen me and saw that I was a veteran, Vietnam veteran,” Malone, who served in the Navy as a Seabee, said.
