Beloved Former Fire Chief In Point Pleasant Beach Dies

A beloved former fire chief in Point Pleasant Beach has passed away.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – A beloved former fire chief in Point Pleasant Beach has passed away.

W. Lee Fox, former chief of Ocean Fire Co., has died, according to an announcement on the fire department's Facebook page published on Monday.

Fox was a devoted member for 55 years and "will be forever missed," the department said.

Fox is survived by his son, ex-Chief A.J. Fox; a daughter, Meryl Clement; a son-in-law, Duke Clement; and grandchildren, Bri Anna Fox, firefighter Alex Fox, Victoria Clement and Jacob Clement.

Visitation will be at the firehouse on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:30 p.m.
