Clifton C. Calvert, Korean War Veteran, Dies At 87

Services for Point Pleasant resident will be held on Friday

Clifton C. Calvert, 87, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017.

Born in Macksville, West Virginia, he lived in Clifton and Ridgefield Park before moving to Point Pleasant in the 1950s.

Mr. Calvert was a United States Army Korean War veteran. He was a retired machinist from 3M Company, Freehold, and was an avid painter, gardener, and craftsman.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan Hill Calvert, and five brothers, Irving, Earl, Hansel, Ray, and Joseph (Eugene).

Surviving are his daughter, Patricia Calvert and her boyfriend, Steve Ross. Also surviving are two sisters, Marie and Ethel; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 7:30 p.m. a service will be held.
