POINT PLEASANT, NJ – This weekend the New Jersey Devils will return to the Jersey Shore’s Jenkinson’s Family Boardwalk at the North Inlet as the club hosts its second annual beach bash presented by Xfinity on Saturday, August 19. Beach access and activities will start at 10 a.m. followed by a BBQ from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The summer family event, hosted by hockey television personality Ara Ocal, will feature meet-and-greet opportunities with current Devils players Michael Kapla, Steven Santini, Joseph Blandisi, Keith Kinkaid and prospects Michael McLeod and Blake Speers. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet Devils alumni as well as attend a player Q&A led by Devils radio broadcaster Matt Laughlin.

“We were looking for bigger and better ways to interact with our fans, so we came up with this fun new approach last year to get ready for the upcoming hockey season,” said Corinne Weltman, senior manager of experiential events and fan experience. “Overall our fans last year had a fantastic experience.”

More than 1,500 fans participated in last year’s inaugural summer event and the optimism is even higher for this weekend’s event with temperatures expected to soar into the upper 80s on Saturday.
“We’re really looking forward to building off of the success that we had last year and have added more excitement to the event including live music,” said Weltman, who has worked closely with the promotion and organization of the summer beach bash over the last two years. “This year we’ve had the same buildup of excitement and we’ll have more talent at the event. There will be even more opportunities for fans to get to know our players this year.”
