Jack Fitzsimmons scored a 13-yard touchdown, but Point Pleasant Boro was unable to do much more, falling to Barnegat 13-7 in a Shore Conference Class B South football game, according to the Shore Sports Network.
The Panthers, (3-3, 3-2) were driving late in the game in hopes of at least tying things up, but the Bengals (5-1, 4-1) picked off a pass to seal Point Boro’s fate. It was the team’s second straight loss.
Point Boro travels to Raritan High School in Hazlet next Friday for a nondivisional game.
