Panthers snap three-game skid, play role of spoiler in division title race

Point Pleasant Boro ended what’s been a rough October on a positive note Friday night, beating Jackson Liberty 33-10in a Shore Conference Class B South football game in Point Pleasant, according to the Shore Sports Network.

The Panthers (4-4, 4-2), who had lost three straight games, also got to play the role of spoiler, knocking the Lions (4-4, 4-2) out of what had been a three-way tie for first place in the division. Central Regional and Barnegat currently are tied for the division lead.

The Panthers did it with a scoring onslaught from five players: Gene Franceschini (17-yard TD run), Devin Connelly (4-yard run), Jack Fitzsimmons (1 yard), Nate Husak (1 yard), and Hayden Frey (17-yard touchdown reception).
