Jenkinson's In Point Beach Won't Reopen Without Help: Mayor
Right now, Jenkinson's beach is closed, too, and the company said it won't reopen until the boardwalk does. Gov. Murphy addressed the case.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Point Pleasant Beach said it won't be ready to reopen the boardwalk until it gets more help – and that means reopening up Jenkinson's.

Mayor Paul Kanitra said he's been asking Gov. Phil Murphy for more than a month for assistance "with being able to get our stalled Class 1 and Class 2 officers out of training."

"It’s absurd they expect us to be able to control these huge numbers they’re subjecting us to, yet have done nothing to help us get more resources to handle things appropriately," Kanitra said.
Col. Patrick J. Callahan, superintendent of the State Police, said he's been working with the Office of Attorney General and they're working with police training officials to make sure they have more special officers.

"We think we will be well-positioned with staff to support the Shore towns," he said.
