Man Charged With Aggravated Assault On Cop In Point Pleasant Boro

POINT PLEASANT BORO –A 26-year-old man was recently charged with aggravated assault on police in Point Pleasant Boro, police said.

The incident happened on March 7th when Officer Matthew Nickerson arrested William Marshall, 26, of Brick with several offenses.

He was also charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and an ordinance violation for peace and good order.

Marshall was released on a summons.

• 02/05/2021: Officer Ryan Grohowski charged Brandon Jagerman, 27 year old from Wall Township, with soliciting without a permit for a violation of the Borough Ordinance.
• 02/16/2021: Officer Ryan Barker charged Thomas Fairhurst, 56 year old from Point Pleasant with a Borough Ordinance violation for discharging a firearm within his property.
• 02/18/2021: Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II John Jakubiak arrested Robert Centeno, 54 year old from Point Pleasant, with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, NJSA 39:4-50. Mr. Centeno was also charged with Operating after License Suspension, Careless Driving, Reckless Driving and 4th degree Operating a Motor Vehicle During a Period of License Suspension, NJSA 2C:40-26. Mr. Centeno was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in accordance with Bail Reform.
• 02/22/2021: Officer Matthew Nickerson arrested Damian Monteforte, 32 year old from Point Pleasant, with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, NJSA 39:4-50. Mr. Monteforte was also charged with Careless Driving, Reckless Driving, Open Container in a Motor Vehicle, Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, Failure to Exhibit Documents and Operating Motor Vehicle while suspended.
• 02/26/2021: Officer James Kavanagh arrested Erin Quinn, 44 year old from Lacey, with simple assault, NJSA 2C:12-1(a)1, a disorderly persons offense. Released on summons.
• 02/28/2021: Officer Ryan Barker arrested Carla Divona, 53 year old from Point Pleasant, with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, NJSA 39:4-50. Mrs. Divona was also charged with Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Improper Turn at Traffic Control Signal and Failure to Have Liability Insurance.
• 03/01/2021: Officer Matthew Mergner arrested Janis O’Reilly, 61 year old from Point Pleasant, with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, NJSA 39:4-50 and Reckless driving.
• 03/19/2021: Officer Ryan Grohowski arrested John Przybysz, 29 year old from Ocean gate, with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, NJSA 39:4-50, Careless Driving and Reckless Driving.
• 03/21/2021: Officer Christopher Phillips charged Robert Grady, 35 year old from Toms River, with Simple Assault, a disorderly persons offense, NJSA 2C:12-1(a)1. Released from the scene on a summons.
