POINT PLEASANT BORO – A 39-year-old man was arrested Thursday after leaving threatening messages on the voicemail system at two Point Pleasant schools, police said.
The disturbing threat made reference to the 1999 Columbine shooting massacre and the murder of students, police said.
The threat did not result in the evacuation of any building, police said.
An immediate investigation began and Shaun Giberson, 39, of Whiting was identified as the person who made the calls, police said.
Giberson was staying at a local motel at the time the calls were made, police said.
Subsequent searches were conducted and no weapons were located, police said.
An arrest warrant was issued charging Giberson with second-degree terroristic threats.
Giberson was later transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility and held without bail.
