New Chief Of Point Pleasant Boro Police

POINT PLEASANT BORO – The Point Pleasant Boro Police Department has named a new chief.

Robert Lokerson, who previously served as captain, was promoted to the position of chief of the department, officials said this week.

"The Point Pleasant Beach Police Department would like to congratulate Chief Robert Lokerson on his recent promotion," according to the department from Point Boro's neighboring town. "Best of luck to you and your officers during this new and exciting chapter in your department.'s history."

Lokerson also added a quote to his department's Facebook page: "Our Police Department delivers quality law enforcement services under a community policing philosophy."

Lokerson took over after Richard Larsen retired as chief after serving the department for 34 years.
