NJ Weather: Forecast For Memorial Day, This Week Is Released

NEW JERSEY – A lot of rain fell in New Jersey over the weekend, but the Garden State should get finally get some relief on Memorial Day – even if it won't make for a great day at the beach.

The National Weather Service says that New Jerseyans will enjoy mostly cloudy or sunny skies throughout the day, with temperatures staying in the low-to-mid-70s.

Temperatures are supposed to drop into the 50s at night, however.

So even though New Jersey is enjoying its first weekend in a long time without mask restrictions, maybe you should consider visiting a warm restaurant instead of sitting on a cooler-than-normal beach.

Ocean water temperatures during Memorial Day weekend are traditionally cooler than usual, and this weekend will be no exception, AccuWeather says.

Surf temperatures will range from the 50s in eastern New England to the 60s along much of the mid-Atlantic coast, AccuWeather said.

Rain is expected to return later in the week, bringing showers to New Jersey on Wednesday and Thursday.

• Monday: Mostly cloudy and sunny, with a high near 74.
• Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 52.
• Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 79.
• Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56.
• Wednesday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
• Wednesday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
• Thursday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
