NEW JERSEY – A winter weather advisory expanded to all of New Jersey Sunday now that ice and a winter storm have impacted the Garden State, and another possible storm is on the way. Road restrictions are in place and authorities have issued warnings (see road impacts, ice totals below).

The National Weather Service says the possible ice storm prompted the agency to expand the winter weather advisory. Some snow and a lot of ice and sleet began impacting New Jersey after 1 p.m. on Saturday, and the storm was expected to last until, at the earliest, 10 a.m. on Sunday.

AccuWeather says another winter storm is on the docket for the Northeast. Through Monday and Tuesday, the storm will encompass and persist across the Northeast, bringing a wave of snow.

A change to plain rain is most likely along much of the I-95 corridor, but precipitation is likely to start out as a period of ice at the onset in the mid-Atlantic and across southern New England, according to AccuWeather.

Still, enough wintry weather could happen to make for some very slippery conditions.
