POINT PLEASANT BORO - Jennifer Scharff says she's seen the Country Bakery go above and beyond its job description amid the COVID crisis.

No job is too big for them and the business is always willing to assist cutomers in their order process, and suggest ideas as well, she said.

Most importantly, Country Bakery has donated food to local hospitals in the spring multiple times, despite most businesses closing or not doing well.

"They found a way to honor healthcare workers during this crazy year," Scharff said.

The Country Bakery was among several establishments nominated for Patch's "Business of the Year" in Point Pleasant Boro as many businesses continue to battle through the coronavirus pandemic.

But it was these businesses, the customers say, that also came through for others in need – even as they were struggling themselves.

The Country Bakery boasts a number of creative bakery items, from standard birthday cakes to cigar-shaped goodies.

Scharff said the bakery's baked goods are "amazing" and it has some of the most unique items in its shop.

"Such a great local business that supports their town," she said.

Lisa Giambalvo, another customer, said Country Baker's sweets "are delicious and customer service is great."

But it's Country Bakery's generosity, customers say, that really sticks out.

"Their staff is wonderful and caring," Scharff said. "Both Bob and Vikki are generous, loving people who cater to every order's needs."
