Point Boro Annual Classic And Antique Car Show Continues To Grow Year By Year
The Point Pleasant Borough Rotary Club show is coming up on Aug. 17.

The Point Pleasant Rotary Club never has to worry about attracting participants to its annual Classic and Antique car show each year.
John Curtis, a club member and show coordinator for many years, said the number of exhibitors and car lovers continues to grow each year. And so does the number of categories, especially when it comes to classic muscle cars of the late 1960s and early 1970s, according to the Ocean Star.
“We added a couple of new categories in the past few years, like Best Camaro and Best Corvette," he said. "This year we’ve expanded it to the Best Charger and Best Challenger.”

The event features modified cars and trucks, antique and classic vehicles, street rods and foreign cars, and has remained one of the top fundraisers for the club.
This year's show will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Crystal Point Yacht Club, 3900 River Avenue. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend.

The reason for the steady increase seems to be that exhibitors are coming from more areas of the state, Curtis said.
“We’re drawing from a larger audience with an appeal coming from the Trenton and Central New Jersey side of the state,” he said. “Every year we see some of the finest cars in the tri-state area and we like to consider this event as one of the best in central New Jersey.”
Food will also be available for purchase and the show will feature music and a D.J.
