Point Pleasant Beach High School Sports Now On Video Amid COVID

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Point Pleasant Beach has partnered with the NFHS Network and invested in new technology that will bring you every game from the Point Beach High School Gym.

For the past two weeks, residents have been able to subscribe to the NFHS Streaming Service.

You can either pay $10.99 per month or $69.99 per year to see all home games and matches in the high school gym and on the Donald T. Fioretti football field.

You will also be able to login and watch any games at schools who stream via the NFHS program.

"Friends and family members who can’t make the game will never miss a play again!" the district says.

The streaming comes as 10th District Legislators – Sen. Jim Holzapfel and Assemblymen Greg McGuckin and John Catalano – are calling on Gov. Phil Murphy to ease restrictions and allow spectators to attend indoor children’s sporting events.

The lawmakers believe that comprehensive safety protocols can be put in place to allow parents to watch their children participate in events such as ice hockey, basketball, swimming and wrestling.

“Sports are a large part of a child’s educational development and extracurricular experience and many of these students rely on the support from their parents and guardians during their competitions,” stated the legislators. “We are asking the Governor to allow spectators to attend children’s sporting events as long as safety measures can be in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

“We have heard from a number of parents who are missing out on their children’s final years of high school athletics because of the restrictions set in place by Governor Murphy. We believe this is a reasonable request that can have a positive, lasting impact on so many students who have endured the hardships of the pandemic restrictions.

“Let’s strike a balance between doing our part to keep the infection rate down while allowing parents to watch their children participate in indoor athletics,” added the lawmakers. “This is a common-sense approach which will provide the necessary support for many student athletes in New Jersey."
