Outages In Point Pleasant Beach, Boro Amid Tropical Storm Fay
UPDATE: Tropical Storm Fay has already brought heavy rain to the Jersey Shore. Here's the latest.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH — Point Pleasant Boro and Point Pleasant Beach were dealing with the effects of Tropical Storm Fay on Friday as power outages were reported.
Thirty-one power outages were reported in the area, but more could come since winds could hit 73 mph.
Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Paul Kanitra said the town preemptively lowered the water levels of two of the coastal lakes "so that we’d have more capacity to help keep flooding to a minimum."

"Police are also patrolling in their storm vehicles in case their assistance is needed with anything else that may arise," Kanitra said.

"A friendly reminder.......avoid parking in flood prone areas and do not drive through flood waters. When in doubt, please turn around! We also suggest you secure any loose debris that is outside due to the expected strong winds. If you need us, we are a call away! Be safe everyone!"
This is a developing story. Patch will have more information as it comes in.
