Popular Point Pleasant Beach Festival Of The Sea Slated For Saturday, Sept. 16

The annual event in downtown Point Pleasant Beach will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH - The ever-popular Festival of the Sea will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The event, which is held in downtown Point Pleasant Beach, will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The rain date is Sept. 17.

The event will feature all kinds of seafood - including clam chowder and lobster - live music and games, a wine garden and family activities. And if you'd rather have a steak, you can have that too.

Visitors can take a shuttle bus downtown to the intersection of Bay and Arnold avenues.

Last year's festival was barely underway when it was abruptly canceled as a precaution after a live pipe bomb exploded on the Seaside Park boardwalk.

The event will also feature hundreds of vendors, arts and crafts, pony rides, games for kids and live music.
