​Russ Leming, Longtime Point Boro EMS Member, Dies

Russell T. Leming, a longtime member of the Point Boro EMS, has died. He was 81.

Leming, who died on Thursday at home, was a life member of the squad who dedicated decades of service, "helping countless amounts of individuals" along the way, according to Point Boro EMS.

"Russ has served our agency in different capacities, but in his last years of active service, he was known to many to always keep our onboard and portable oxygen tanks maintained," according to the Point Boro EMS Facebook page.

Born and raised in Jackson, Leming moved to Point Pleasant in 1958, according to his obituary. He worked as a production manager for Ciba-Geigy in Toms River before his retirement.

Leming proudly served America in the United States Marines, according to the obituary.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, in 2003.

He is survived by his son, Rusty, and his wife, Scottie of Marietta, CA; one brother, William Leming and his wife, Janet of Anaheim, CA; two sisters, Daloris and Lauranne Leming ; 3 grandchildren, Allison, Ian Leming and Riley Leming, and 4 great-grandchildren, Kelsey Elliott, Blake, Dylan and Briar.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Monday, October 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, in Brick.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Jackson.
