Spectacular Christmas Light Show Tonight, Tomorrow Benefits Challenger Sports Program
A Wall Township group puts on a massive light display each year; see it tonight, tomorrow, and Dec. 20
For the ninth year, a Wall Township home will host a spectacular light show for visitors from all over the area.
The Christmas Light Show, on Woolley Road, is a 40-minute show with pyrotechnics, music and more, sponsored by dj Dan Productions and put together by a group of friends. What started out in 2004 as a small, family-only production, has turned into a massive event that drew 12,000 people in 2013, according to the show’s website.
It is scheduled for three nights: tonight, Dec. 14; Sunday, Dec. 15, and next Saturday, Dec. 20. There are two shows a night, at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Tonight the show includes musical performances by Chris Pinnella, a touring member and lead singer for the Trans Siberian Orchestra, who grew up in Manasquan. For more information about Chris Pinnella, visit his website at www.ChrisPinnella.com.
While the show is free, the event raises money for the group Challenged Youth Sports, which provides recreational sports opportunities for disabled children. The group got its start in the Lincroft section of Middletown in 1990 and today serves children throughout Monmouth County. Donations are accepted at the show -- suggested amounts are $20 for a family of four, $10 for individuals and couples -- or online.

Last year $7,000 was donated by showgoers.
This is a walking event, meaning those viewing the show must park and walk to the show -- roads around the show are closed to traffic.
All parking for the show is located at the North Wall Little League Field (2744 Belmar Blvd., Wall) and is free. Attendees must park at the field and walk to the show; the police-controlled route is a 10-minute walk. Woolley Road will be closed with handicapped access at the discretion of the Wall Police Department. Please arrive 30-40 minutes prior to show time and bring a flashlight.
The weather tonight and tomorrow is predicted to be clear though on the chilly side, with temperatures expected to drop to around freezing tonight, but the show website says, ”In the event of poor weather the show may be rescheduled. Visit www.TheChristmasLightShow.com after 4 p.m. on the day of the show for information on the status of the shows that evening. December 19th and 21st are the official snow dates.”
