Woman's Club of Point Pleasant participates in Jumpstart program

Woman's Club of Pt. Plsnt. presents "Jumpstart, Read for the Record" program to 10 pre-school children at Little Giggles school.

Even during these times of social distancing, The Woman's Club continues to work with organizations, schools and other services to help when possible. Our club made arrangements at Little Giggles, Route 88 Ocean Avenue Point Pleasant for May 4th for Karen Osborne, President of the Woman's Club of Point Pleasant & Pat Lopez, Second V.P. to present the Jumpstart Program to ten preschool children. Karen read, "They Call Me Horse", by Pat Lopez, author in residence. Children were asked to bring their favorite stuffed animal to school. Conversations & activities were included & each child went home with an autographed copy and an experience of getting along with all kinds of people.

Jumpstart's Read for the Record brings together millions of people each year in classrooms, libraries, community centers & homes across the U.S. This annual campaign was launched over a decade ago to highlight the importance of building early literacy and language skills for every child so that all children have the opportunity to enter kindergarten prepared to succeed.
