Woman's Club of Pt. Pleasant needs your help !
Project "Operation Chill Out" for homeless Veterans
The Woman's Club of Point Pleasant has taken on to help with a state project called "Operation Chill Out". It is a volunteer outreach organization( based in NJ) for homeless veterans (men & women). They seek help from individuals, clubs, businesses & organizations, accepting monetary donations or articles needed, which they distribute to the homeless veterans. Our club has volunteered to help Operation Chill Out with their winter project, which is to fill as many backpacks as possible with winter survival items.
Right now Operation Chill Out is beginning their annual Winter Outreach collection. This is where clubs or individuals can purchase completed backpacks, or chose other individual selections, from a list on their website. If you wish to fill a backpack, you can go to their online, so called, "gift registry" at OPERATION CHILL OUT, which has a selection of items to be used to fill the backpacks. They need jackets, hooded sweatshirts, thermal underwear, socks, hats, gloves, scarfs, sleeping bags, survival gear, tents and so much more.
If anyone is interested in helping with our project, you can go to the website directly - "Operation Chill Out", donate and give our name as the club associated with you & your donation. If you prefer to make a donation of any items listed directly to our club to help our members fill backpacks, or would like further information, please contact our chairperson - Nancy at 201-400-4564.
