LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Three men died early Saturday morning in Long Island City, after driving a car into Newton Creek, police said.

The trio — Luis Cuadros, 30, Quameek Mack, 25, and another unidentified man — was traveling “at an apparent high rate of speed” on Borden Avenue, near the Long Island Expressway, around 4:46 a.m., when the driver lost control, slammed into a barrier and plunged into the creek, according to the NYPD.

Witnesses told multiple news outlets that the person behind the wheel of the 2016 Honda Civic was speeding down the dead-end street and hit a concrete skateboarding ramp, which launched the car over a fence and into the water.
