Long Island City School Evacuated After Bomb Threat, Police Say
Students and teachers have re-entered Hunters Point Community Middle School after a bomb threat forced them to evacuate, police said.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS ? A bomb threat made against a Long Island City middle school forced hundreds of students and teachers to evacuate the building Tuesday morning ? but the situation has since been cleared, police said.
The threat at Hunters Point Community Middle School, on 51st Avenue and Center Boulevard, was made around 10:30 a.m. when someone made a phone call to the school's front desk, an NYPD spokesperson said.
Around 1,000 students and staff members had to evacuate the building, police said.

By 12:45 p.m., police had deemed the situation safe and had allowed everyone to re-enter the building, an NYPD spokesperson said.
