37-Year-Old Queens Woman Shot To Death, No Arrests Made: NYPD
Gudelia Vallinas was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head on the corner of 48th Street and Broadway Friday night, police say.

ASTORIA, QUEENS – A 37-year-old Queens woman was shot to death on Friday after police were called to the corner of 48th Street and Broadway and found the woman with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
Gudelia Vallinas was pronounced dead after being taken to NYC Health and Hospitals in Elmhurst following the shooting, the New York Police Department said. Vallinas was found unconscious by officers who were called to the location at 8:14 p.m. after responding to reports of shots fired in the area.
Vallinas is the mother of two children, according to a NY1.com report, and is believed to have been caught in the cross-fire of shooting between two rival gangs, according to the report. The woman's father-in-law told the station that Vallinas has come home from her job as a cleaner and fed her 9-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son. said that Vallinas had run to a nearby Walgreens store and was just across the street from her block when she was shot.

The New York Daily News reported that video shows two gunmen running toward their intended target and then running from the scene after Vallinas was shot. The woman's father-in-law described her as a loving mother who was devoted to her children. He said in the interview with he has forgiven her killers.
A Go Fund Me effort was launched on Monday by Vallinas' husband, Alfredo, who said in the posting that the money would be used to cover his wife's funeral expenses. As of Tuesday morning, the effort has raised more than $47,000 after a goal of $20,000 was initially set.

"I can’t even find words to describe the pain we are going through," Alfredo Vallinas wrote, adding that his wife was the victim of gang and gun violence. "Every where she went she left a beautiful light of joy and hope. She leaves behind 2 kids that were her everything."
Police said that no arrests have been made in the incident and that an investigation continues into the shooting.
