Asian Man Beat Up At Queens Plaza Subway Station: Police
A man beat up a 22-year-old Asian man in Long Island City, an unprovoked attack that is being investigated as a hate crime, police said.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — An Asian man was beat up at the Queens Plaza subway station earlier this month, an unprovoked attack that continues a pattern of racist attacks against Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) people in the city, police said.
The hate crime happened around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday April 18, as the victim, a 22-year-old man, was attacked from behind by an unidentified male at the Queens Plaza subway station in Long Island City, according to the NYPD.
The attacker punched the victim in the back and chest, before running away.

Police said that the victim was hurt by the attack, but refused medical attention.
The NYPD are asking for help in finding the male suspect, who was caught on camera at the subway station. As of Tuesday no arrests have been made and the suspect has not been identified.
