ASTORIA, QUEENS — A new community group dedicated to using art to highlight local injustices will host an interactive event Saturday in Astoria about food insecurity in the neighborhood.

The upcoming "WinterFest" event by Art As Activism, which formed in summer 2020, will feature artist performances, a live portrait fundraiser and interactive activities to raise awareness about food deserts and food insecurity in Astoria, according to co-organizer Devora Fein.
