This Astoria Private School Is Among NY's Best In 2021

Four Queens schools were in Niche.com's top 100 best private schools in 2021, including this one in Astoria.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — An Astoria school has been named one of the best private high schools in New York State, along with three others in the borough.

St. Demetrios Preparatory School on 30th Drive ranked 73rd on Niche.com's ranking of the best private high schools for 2021. It was one of four Queens schools that earned a spot in the top 100.

St. Demetrios earned the second-highest ranking on Niche.com's list of the Queens high schools that made it onto the list, while Manhattan schools made up all but one of the top 10 spots.

Here are all the Queens high schools that made the top 100, with their ranking:

  • The Kew-Forest School, #54
  • St. Demetrios Preparatory School, #73
  • Archbishop Molloy High School, #95
  • Garden School, #97

The rankings are "rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education," according to Niche.
