An Astoria restaurant has been named one of the most "thrilling" places to get Thai food in all of New York City, according to a new list.
ASTORIA, QUEENS — An Astoria restaurant has been named one of the most "thrilling" places to get Thai food in all of New York City, according to a newly updated list.
Eater's list, which features 28 exciting Thai eateries across the five boroughs, includes Pye Boat Noodle, a restaurant in Astoria that's known for its noodles (as the restaurant's name suggests).
Pye Boat Noodle, which is located at 35-13 Broadway, is one of six Thai restaurants in Queens that made the list. There are also a handful of Brooklyn Thai spots and more than 10 Manhattan-based eateries named in Eater's roundup.

Eater critic Robert Sietsema said that Pye Boat Noodle, which is named for the oars used to paddle along Thai canals, serves noodles "akin to those served by boat vendors." He recommends the 'boat noodles with pork,' which are "authentically thickened with pig blood," but if you'd prefer your noodles sans-blood there are many other noodle choices.
According to Sietsema other highlights include 'yen ta fo,' which include an assortment of seafood, and 'bamee phoo moo dang hand,' which are egg noodles with pork belly — by Sietsema's own estimate, it is "a very rich dish."

Among the other restaurants that cracked the list are two other northwest Queens spots in Woodside: Thai Nara Halal, at 64-02 35th Avenue, and Sripraphai, at 64-13 39th Avenue.
