ASTORIA, QUEENS -- "The best cookies in the world" are right in your backyard - At least, that's what one national food media outlet is calling the cookies coming out of this Queens bakery.
Food Envy, who says its mission is to provide viewers with "all the best food content from around the world," highlighted the flavor-packed cookies from Astoria's very own Chip NYC in a video recently posted to its Facebook page that has since garnered nearly 2.7 million views.
"These are the gooiest cookies in NYC," the video says of the Queens cookie shop's culinary creations. "They're praised as the best cookies in the world."

While the cookies already look fluffy and delicious from the outside, the real surprise comes when you crack one open to unveil a gooey core, the video said. Flavors vary by the day and season, but s'mores, peanut butter-chocolate, Nutella-sea salt, and the original chocolate chip are among the store's most popular flavors right now.
"Each cookie is loaded with flavor and is perfectly soft and fluffy," the video said while praising the Astoria cookie shop.

The original Chip NYC opened at 30-06 34th St. in what started as a hobby of baking cookies and sharing them with friends, Chip NYC's owners said on their website. Owners sought to recreate "the simple taste of our favorite childhood sweet."
"Each of our cookie creations are baked daily with the richest ingredients and with the utmost care and love," the owners wrote.
Customers can often be seen waiting in lines wrapping around the block for a cookie from the Astoria store, as shown in photos posted to Chip NYC's Instagram page.
The cookie shop has since expanded into Manhattan, where it runs a stand inside Chelsea's Gansevoort Market. Flavor updates can be found almost daily on the Chip NYC Instagram page, which features hundreds of photos and videos of the mouth watering cookie treats.
"They look like cookie heaven," the video said.
The owners of Chip NYC could not immediately be reached for comment.
