The early 4th of July celebration is an annual event in the neighborhood, and has been for three-plus decades, but this is the first time it will be held since the start of the pandemic.
The independence celebration is the latest event in a series of shows and screenings that have been held at Astoria Park as COVID numbers plummet citywide and New York reopens.
