Duo Swipes $1K Accordion From Guitar Center In LIC: Police

Cops are searching for two thieves who walked right out of the chain instrument store with the pricey accordion and an $800 sound mixer.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS -- Police are searching for a duo of musically-inclined thieves who managed to steal a $1,000 accordion from a Guitar Center in Long Island City by simply walking out the door with it.

The two middle-aged men snatched the pricey Hohner accordion right off the shelves of a Guitar Center at 34-17 48th St. after wandering into the chain music store on Aug. 15 at about 5:30 p.m., authorities said.

The NYPD on Wednesday released surveillance footage of the two men hauling the accordion and an $800 Yamaha sound mixer out of the store in plain sight.
