Half Of District 30 Students Now Fully Remote: Data

For the first time this school year, a majority of students in the Western Queens district are signed up for all-remote learning.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A majority of District 30 students are now enrolled in full-time remote learning, according to NYC Department of Education data released Monday.

As of Friday, 51 percent of students in the Western Queens school district had opted into the city's fully remote option, the data shows.

Most students in the district were previously enrolled in a hybrid model, which combines in-person and remote lessons.

Families can switch to remote learning at any time but can only switch back to blended learning during a set time period, which the Department of Education says will open soon.
