The Happie House Yoga Studio In Astoria To Close In June
The Happie House, a yoga studio in Astoria, is closing permanently next month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — The Happie House is closing permanently next month, joining the thousands of small businesses across New York City that are shuttering due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Astoria yoga studio will host its last day of virtual classes June 5, according to an Instagram post.
"The pandemic has not been kind to many small businesses across the country and unfortunately we are no different," the post said. "This decision was not made lightly, but at this time we are unable to carry on."

Its second-floor studio space at 30-05 35th St. will be open next week so its clientele can pick up yoga mats or any other belongings they left at the studio. Any items not picked up by June 30 will be donated.
Many of the studio's yoga teachers will continue hosting their own online classes during the pandemic.

The Happie House is at least the second yoga studio in Astoria to close permanently due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Yoga Studio Astoria, located on 31st Street next to the Ditmars Boulevard subway station, is closing by the end of May.
The coronavirus crisis has forced more than 100,000 small businesses in New York to close for good, and millions have registered for unemployment benefits.
