Hunters Point Library Finally Open!!!!!!

The all new public library is now open to the after almost 12 years under construction.

Over the past 12 years and 41 million dollars later the all new Hunters Point Library is finally open after many delays with construction. The Long Island City pier is now nearly complete in construction reviving one of New York’s most renovated towns.

Long Island City has completely changed its culture over the past 10 years. Being one of Queens most dangerous towns almost 10 years ago it has completed one of the biggest comebacks. The library located right on the pier and a few minutes away from the famous Pepsi Cola sign.

The library designed by Steven Holl’s firm the building sports white concrete walls with custom window framing. Internally it has a glossy wood finish with aluminum walls. The overall picture has a very futuristic look for the 21st century skyline.

Look to visit the library Monday thru Saturday with Sunday's the building being closed. As well as many events to come. Look for updates on the New York Library website.
