LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A Jewish day school in Flushing may expand into western Queens.

The Solomon Schechter School of Queens, which serves kids in pre-K through eighth grade, is hosting a focus meeting in Long Island City later this month to gauge parents' interest in a new early childhood education center in the neighborhood or in Astoria.

"Long Island City and Western Queens is one of the fastest growing areas within the borough," a school spokesperson told the LIC Post. "It's our hope to give Western Queens children the opportunity to see why our school has been so successful for more than 65 years."
