LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A personal shopper for the comedian Kevin Hart was arrested Wednesday in Queens after prosecutors accused him of using the star's credit card information to spend more than $1 million on designer watches, fine art and other luxury goods.

Long Island City resident Dylan Jason Syer, who ran a personal shopping business, stands accused of using Hart's credit card information without authorization to purchase two Louis Vuitton handbags, KAWS and Bearbrick collectible dolls, a Sam Friedman painting and $400,000 worth of Patek Philippe watches, according to prosecutors.

Syer, 29, faces charges of grand larceny, possession of stolen property, identity theft and scheme to defraud and could spend up to 25 years in prison if convicted, prosecutors said.

Hart hired Syer's business, Sire Consulting, LLC, in 2015 to obtain several unspecified items for him, prosecutors said.

Over 19 months from 2017 to 2019, Syer used Hart's credit cards to pour money into his checking account that he then spent on fine art and luxury items. Syer featured photos of those items "prominently" on his public Instagram account, according to prosecutors.

“The defendant thought he was beyond reach and was living out his uber-rich lifestyle
fantasies," Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement. "But my team uncovered the bogus purchases – from the credit card charges being processed by the bank, down to tracking FedEx packages delivered to Syer’s home and business."

After Syer's arrest Wednesday, investigators searched his home and seized about $250,000 worth of cash and luxury goods.

He is due in court on Feb. 17.

"This should serve as a cautionary tale for everyone," Katz said.
