A man who was shot in the stomach last month as he walked his dog in Long Island City died Tuesday, according to police and a news report.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A man who was shot in the stomach last month as he walked his dog in Long Island City died Tuesday — exactly a month later, according to police and a news report.

George Rosa was walking his dog along 40th Avenue about 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, when a bullet struck him in the torso, according to an NYPD news release and a New York Post report.

Rosa, 53, was just around the corner from his Long Island City home, police said.

He told police officers who responded to the shooting that he didn't see who shot him or where the shots came from, the Post reported.

EMS rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died Tuesday, according to police.

No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
