Long Island City Hotel Worker Slashed In Lobby: Police
A worker at La Quinta Inn was slashed in the hands and the ear Sunday by a man who had been loitering in the lobby.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A Long Island City hotel worker was slashed in the hands and the ear Sunday by a man who had been loitering in the lobby, according to police.
The 33-year-old employee of the La Quinta Inn on Queens Boulevard was behind the reception desk just after 6 a.m. when he asked the man to leave the hotel.
The employee stepped out from behind the desk to hand the man a bottle of water.

The man pulled out a knife and charged at the worker, slashed him in the hands and the left ear, then ran out of the hotel, the NYPD said in a news release.
The hotel worker was brought to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Police on Monday released images of the man wanted in connection with the assault.
